Mondays with Buddy: Moggie

Today’s word is moggie or moggyMoggie is an informal British word for a cat, especially one that  does not have a pedigree or is unremarkable. I suppose I can be called a moggie because I do not have a pedigee.  But no one would ever say I am unremarkable. Just look at this adorable photo.

We often hear the words mutt or mongrel used to describe a non-pedigreed dog but moggie is less often used to describe a cat.  Judith Kerr writes children’s books about a moggie named Mog. Isn’t he adorable, too?

Sainbury’s, the second largest supermarket chain in the UK, produced a Mog Christmas video this year. I know it’s the wrong time of year but you must see this video.
